A Home Away From Home for Families
The Ronald McDonald Family Room at South Texas Health System Children's is a quiet place away from the medical space for families to recharge during the long days of testing or treatment.
Parents and families with hospitalized children can visit the Ronald McDonald Family Room to get some rest, eat a snack and take a shower — all within the hospital, just steps from their child's bedside. The Ronald McDonald Family Room at STHS Children's is located on the 3rd floor next to the playroom and is open Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. It is equipped with a kitchen, living room area, shower, laundry facilities and three quiet rooms where parents can relax.
About Ronald McDonald House Charities South Texas
We serve children throughout the Rio Grande Valley and Coastal Bend areas through the continuous operation of the Ronald McDonald House program in Corpus Christi and two Ronald McDonald Family Room programs in the Rio Grande Valley. Our mission is to keep children near the care they need so families can get better together. We provide caring and compassionate environments where families can rest and find support while remaining close to their critically ill children.
